Hi! I'm Kendra Rodriguez — a proud Bakersfield native, youth sports advocate, and the founder of Next Play Collective.
I launched this nonprofit because I’ve seen firsthand how financial barriers can sideline kids from the activities they love. Whether it’s registration fees, uniforms, or travel costs, too many young people — especially from working-class and underserved families — are being left out. And that’s not okay.
With over a decade of experience in sales, financial literacy, and community engagement, my work has always centered around creating access and opportunity. Now I’m bringing that passion to the field, the court, the gym — and beyond.
Next Play Collective exists to fund the next play — not just in sports, but in all competitive activities where youth are showing up, working hard, and striving to grow. From marching band to robotics, from cheer to mock trial, we support youth across Kern County by removing financial obstacles, building community partnerships, and promoting equity.
We’re just getting started — and I’d love for you to be part of this movement.
